By downloading, installing, or using "Whit Did Ye Say?" ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App. The App is developed and maintained by Duncan at SlammDunk Productions ("I", "us", or "our").
Whit Did Ye Say? is a Scottish-English translation and cultural learning app. The App provides translation services, a Scottish dictionary, phrase packs, quizzes, pronunciation features, and cultural content. Some features are available for free, while others require a paid subscription or one-time purchase.
The App offers both free and premium tiers:
A subscription is not required to use the App. All core features remain available on the free tier.
If you choose to subscribe to the Pro plan:
Current subscription prices are displayed within the App on the upgrade screen. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change with notice.
Scottish Packs and Tips are one-time purchases processed through Google Play or the Apple App Store. Once purchased, they are yours permanently and will not recur. Refund policies for one-time purchases are governed by the respective app store's refund policy.
You agree not to:
All content within the App — including but not limited to translations, phrases, audio recordings, quiz content, dictionary entries, graphics, and design — is the intellectual property of SlammDunk Productions or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without express written permission.
The App uses artificial intelligence services to generate translations. While I strive for accuracy, AI translations may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies. Translations are provided for entertainment and educational purposes and should not be relied upon for critical communications.
The App integrates with third-party services including Google AdMob (advertising), ElevenLabs (text-to-speech), and AI translation providers. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. I am not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. I do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. I make no warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of translations or other content.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SlammDunk Productions shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
I reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. I encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
I reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that I believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom (Scotland). Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.
